The 6th SyC Smart Cities Meeting was held from December 7th to 13th, 2019 in Guadalajara, Mexico after the invitation of Federal Government Ministry of Economy, the Mexican NC. The meeting included CAG meetings, WGs meetings, and the plenary meeting. Thirty-one experts and scholars from 13 countries (China, Japan, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, South Africa, Switzerland, Canada, Singapore, Russian Federation and Korea, Republic of) attended the meeting. Professor Xiaomi An attended the meeting. Lecturer Xiaoshuang Jia attended the meeting of the Terminology Working Group (WG1) online.
Professor Xiaomi An is convener of WG1 of IEC SyC Smart Cities, member of the Strategy Group (CAG) of IEC SyC Smart Cities, she is also project leader of IEC 60050-831 and IEC/ TS 63235. At this meeting, Professor An reported the work progress of WG1 since last meeting held in London in this July and organized the dispositions of comments on the 2nd CD draft of IEC 60050-831 ED1 International Electronictechnical Vocabulary (IEV) – Part 831: Smart city systems. Professor Xiaomi An also chaired a worshop on definitions of smart city during the WG1 meeting and had successufuly got IEC SyC Smart Cities approved a single definition on ‘smart city’ .
Besides the WG1 meeting, Professor Xiaomi An also attended the CAG meetings and the WG3 (reference model) Working Group Meeting. Professor Xiaomi An was invited to give a speech on “Concepts and concept systems about the smart city: mapping from a system of systems view” at the International Smart City Standards Conference: Smart Standards and Smarter Cities hosted by the Mexican Standardization Association. Besides, she also visted the Smart City Innovation Center and its living laboratory of the University of Guadalajara in Mexico during the conference.
